Mayor Exchange Day








Brown City Mayor Laura Carpenter (right) presented a key to the city and proclamation to Capac Village President Mark Klug. Elected and appointed officials of the Village of Capac, including Village President Mark Klug, and Councilmembers Elizabeth Hargrave, Debra Hlubic, Greg VanNeste, and Pete Frangedakis; Zoning Administrator Linda Knop and Village Manager Chris Crary joined Mayor Laura Carpenter, Councilmembers Chris Lee, Julie Miller, and Bill Walters; City Treasurer Carol Walters and City Manager Clint Holmes for Mayor Exchange Day. Discussions with Capac included ordinances, mandates from Lansing and Washington, water and sewer systems, economic development and zoning issues. Additionally, Brown City provided an overview of the history of the City of Brown City, toured the downtown area, and met with representatives of the Brown City and Amish business communities at their establishments. By doing this, City Officials were able to highlight the various goods and services offered within the greater Brown City area. Brown City officials visited Capac on Wednesday, Aug. 11, and Capac officials visited Brown City Aug. 18.
