Eleanor M. Glaza




Eleanor M. Glaza, age 85, of Peck died peacefully September 1, 2016. She was born January 2, 1931 in Gagetown, to Frank and Josephine Schwartz. Eleanor graduated Valedictorian of her class from Gagetown High School. She married Roman Glaza on June 30, 1951.

Eleanor was a farmer’s wife, a mother, grandmother and school teacher. She helped her husband farm for many years and worked several jobs over the years. She taught country school, worked at the Peck Grocery store and retired from Midwest Rubber. She loved to bake and decorate cakes. Eleanor was a long time member of St. John Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters; Robert Glaza, Peck, Don (Donna) Glaza, Applegate, Janet (Gary) Hesseltine, Deckerville, Debra (Robert) Dingwell, Melvin and Kenneth Glaza, Melvin, seven grandchildren; Brandy, Jason, Lindsay, Nick, Andy, Cody and Bobby. Also, surviving are two sisters, Gertrude Peruski and Patricia Gracey and two sisters-in-law, Ivernia and Marge and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two grandsons, Matt and Baby Bobby; five brothers, John, Edward, George, Richard and Frank Jr.

Grandsons serving as Casket Bearers were: Jason Burack, Andy Hesseltine, Cody Glaza, Bobby Dingwell, Bruce Davis and Scott Goins.

A funeral mass took place at St. John Catholic Church with burial in St. John Mount Hope Cemetery.
