Schaub earned medals with her championship in the 100 meter hurdles, a fourth in the 300 hurdles, and a fourth in the long jump.

Her long jump effort of 16’5.75” was good for fourth place and a third medal of the day. Her times in 100 and 300 hurdles both broke school records and her long jump effort was a personal-best. Along with that, she was the anchor of the statequalifying

Coach Cathy Storm of Marlette praised her pupil’s effort.

“Emily had an outstanding day. She definitely was focused and was ready to compete.” She later added, “I am extremely proud of Emily. She has been such a pleasure to coach over the last four years. I cannot think of a better way for her to end her high school career than as a State Champion!”
