Blue Water area offers many ways to treat dad for Father’s Day

PORT HURON — There’s plenty of activity in the Blue Water area this time of year to treat dad on Father’s Day Sunday, June 17 and beyond.

• Take in a live show with a trip to the Citadel Stage, 609 Huron Ave., to catch “The Odd Couple” during a Date Night on Saturday, June 16. The evening begins with a unique meal in true Odd Couple style at Kate’s Downtown at 5:30 p.m. followed by VIP seating at the Enter Stage Right’s production at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and can be reserved at www.thecitadelstage.org.

• Discover something new during the Michigan World Organization of China Painters Porcelain Art Sale on Friday, June 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Blue Water Convention Center, 800 Harker St. Painting supplies, demonstrations and handpainted porcelain by Michigan’s best arts will be on display. • Car enthusiasts of all ages won’t want to miss Blue Water Cruise Night from 6-10 p.m. on Friday, June 22 along Pine Grove Avenue and 24th Avenue in Port Huron and Fort Gratiot Get a closer look at the classics on Saturday, June 23 during the Keith Peterson Memorial Car Show from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Birchwood Mall. • Runners can test their physical endurance during the Blue Water Half Marathon on Sunday, June 24 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Blue Water YMCA. • With July coming quickly, make plans now to attend the Blue Water Sand Fest at the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse set for July 6-8, 2802 Omar St. Enjoy advanced and master sand-sculptors competing in contests, live music, demonstrations, kids zone, beer garden and more. • Plus, you can always take a stroll through the Flower Market at Vantage Point, 51 Water St., along the St. Clair River every Tuesday and Saturday in June and July.
