Fall activities abound in area

BROWN CITY — There are plenty of area activities to take part in this fall as autumn leaves begin to change.

• In Yale, Emanuel Redeemer Lutheran Church and School, 11089 Yale Road, will be having its Fall Festival on Friday, Oct. 13 from 4-7 p.m. Events will include caramel apple bar, chili cook-off, family photo opportunity, games, hay ride, face painting and more.

• The Peck American Legion will host its Annual Turkey Dinner at the Legion Pines, 5894 Cass Road, on Friday, Oct. 20 from 4-7 p.m. Cost is $6 per person, $30 per family and preschoolers are free.

• Marlette Fun Night Trick or Trail is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 25. More details to be released.

• Brown City Zombie Fest will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28. The Haunted Trail and Monster Mash Party are both $1. Proceeds to benefit the Brown City summer festival. The schedule includes free selfie booth and kids games at 5 p.m., registration for 5K run at 6:30 p.m.; line up for run/walk at 7 p.m.; Trunk or Treat and Haunted Trail at 8 p.m.; and Monster Mash After Party at 8:30 p.m. For details call 810-356-2358.

• In Burnside Township, the Haunted Mansion will be hosting paranormal investigations at the Bruce Mansion, 5977 Van Dyke (M-53). The sessions, which include a maximum of 15 people, will be held Fridays and Saturdays only from Oct. 13-27 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets are $45 per person. Those ages 16 and up are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent. For reservations, call 810-627- 3731 or 810-650-7852.
