Brown City held the early lead 8-0, but Cass City pulled ahead by halftime 22-14. By the end of the third frame, Brown City was facing a 38-14 deficit that only ballooned to 54-30 when all was said and done.

“We started much better than the first two weeks and moved the ball very well,” said Brown City coach Aren Cooper. “We were able to keep the score close with a tough running game but three fumbles allowed Cass City to seal the game late. Cass City is a big, physical team that is going to make a nice run this year. We still have a LOT of areas to improve on in order to get it going.”

Offensively, Jacob Martus had 144 yards and two scores, Ricky Linsday had 125 yards and one touchdown and Austin Cover led with seven tackles on defense. — L.P.
