GOLF CALENDAR

Golf Outings is provided by View Newspaper Group to give area service clubs, charitable organizations, non-profits, sports booster clubs and other civic and community organizations an opportunity to publicize their golf outings. If your group or club is hosting a golf outing to raise funds for a charitable or community cause, email your outing information to: avandaele@mihomepaper.com. SATURDAY, AUGUST 12

The VFW Hall golf outing will be held on August 12 at ROLLING HILLS GOLF CLUB. Shotgun start at 9 a.m. Cost of $220 per team includes 18 holes of golf with cart, hot dog at turn, door prizes and dinner at the VFW Hall following golf. SATURDAY, AUGUST 12

The David’s Faith & Hope for Life Foundation will hold its 5th annual golf outing on August 12 at LAPEER COUNTRY CLUB. Cost of $400 per team includes green fees, cart, breakfast and dinner. Shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, putting contest, longest drive, closest to pin. The University of Michigan-Flint Women’s Hockey Club will be hosting a golf outing on August 13 at DUTCH HOLLOW GOLF COURSE. Tee time is at 10 a.m. with 9 a.m. registration. Four person teams. Cost of $65 per golfer includes 18 holes of golf with cart and dinner following the event. Closest to the pin, longest drive, skins and raffles. SATURDAY, AUGUST 19

The American Legion Post 181 will host its second annual Mick Walker Scramble on August 19 at GREENBRIER GOLF CLUB. Shotgun start at 9 a.m. Cost of $50 per person includes 18 holes of golf with cart, light meal and a chance at 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes. Skins, Vegas hole, limited mulligans, longest drive, closest to the pin and hole-in-one contest to win a car. Limited entries available. MONDAY, AUGUST 21

The Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan’s 17th annual Golf Classic Fore the Girls 18-hole scramble will be held August 21 at ELKS CLUB #222 IN GRAND BLANC. GSSEM is welcoming current and past Girl Scouts to reconnect by golfing together in teams or attending dinner following the outing. Shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. with 11 a.m. registration. Cost of $450 per team or $120 per person includes golf with cart, lunch, silent auction and dinner. Dinner only tickets are $35 per person of $65 for two. The VIEW Newspaper Group will be hosting its inaugural Lady Classic 18-hole Scramble at METAMORA GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB on August 24. Shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Entry fee of $400 per team or $100 per person includes green fees, cart, breakfast, lunch and dinner. There will be a celebrity caddy auction, mulligan balloons and a 9-and-out room. Celebrity caddy auction begins at 8:45 a.m. Proceeds benefit Lapeer Area Citizens Against Domestic Assault. The Lapeer American Legion will be holding its 10th annual Drive to Survive golf scramble on August 26 at ROLLING HILLS GOLF COURSE. Shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. with 7 a.m. registration. Cost of $70 per person or $280 per team includes golf and hot dogs at the turn. Limited to 36 teams. 50/50 raffle, two closest to the pin’s, men’s and women’s longest drive, Vegas hole, skins. The Mid-Michigan High School Alumni Tournament will be hosting its 3rd annual golf outing at FLUSHING VALLEY on August 27. Shotgun start at 10 a.m. Entry fee of $300 per team includes 18 holes of golf, lunch and dinner, range balls and one drink ticket. Michigan Adaptive Golf will host its 23rd annual 18-hole, par 3 format Pro- Am scramble at SWARTZ CREEK GOLF COURSE on September 15. Shotgun start at 9 a.m. with an 8 a.m. registration. Preregistration required by September 4. Cost of $45 per golfer includes 18 holes of golf with cart, hot dog at the turn and an awards luncheon. Each four-person team must include a golfer with a disability and may include: friends, family, community members and golf pro.
