Ongoing through November

Exchange State Bank, Brown City office, is collecting non-perishable food items for the Brown City Community Food Pantry. Drop off inside or at the first drive-thru.

November 26

Brown City City Council meets on the second and fourth Monday of every month at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 4205 Main St. The public is welcome to attend.

November 29

The Over 50s December meeting will be held Dec. 3 at Myrt Kohn’s home. A catered ham/chicken dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m. followed by a White Elephant gift exchange. There is a $7.50 cost for the meal and bring a wrapped White Elephant Christmas gift. Reservations by Nov. 29 will be appreciated, but are not necessary. November 30

Flynn Township Seniors Potluck will be held at the hall on Shephard Road. Lunch will be at 12:30 p.m. with cards and games after the meal. All seniors welcome.

December 1

Santa will be at the Brown City Fire

Dept. hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children are invited to bring Santa their wishes and stay for a hot dog lunch provided by the firemen. Candy bags donated by Brown City Rotary Club.

December 3

Peck American Legion Auxiliary will be packing Christmas boxes for Members of the Armed Services at 5 p.m. at the Pines Hall. Active military addresses are needed. Also, donations of baked goods and personal items are needed. Call 810-378-5818.

December 4

A free vendor/craft show will be held from 5-8 p.m. at the Marlette Elementary School, sponsored by the Marlette Junior High Student Council in conjunction with the Marlette Book Fair Night.

December 6

The Brown City Elementary Holiday Program will be presented at 7 p.m. at the high school gym. Students in begindergarten through second grades perform first then after intermission grades 3-6 presents “A Christmas Portrait” with music, dancing and memories. Everyone welcome. Santa will make an appearance.

December 7

The Brown City High School chili cook-off will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. before the basketball game. Proceeds to benefit needy families in the Brown City area. The event is hosted by Student Community Organization, National Honor Society and Student Council.
