MARLETTE — At Marlette Regional Hospital (MRH), the best time to give does not need to coincide with a holiday — rather, just a good cause. October marked the month for two great “FUN” fundraisers.

To raise awareness for breast cancer and funds for providing free screening mammograms for the uninsured through the BCUPS program, MRH sold pink hair feather extensions to employees and the community. In addition to the BCUPS fundraiser, the administrative staff at MRH challenged employees, Auxilians and board members to raise $750 within three weeks for Toys-for-Tots.

As an incentive to raise these funds, CEO Dan Babcock and CFO Jim Singles agreed to wear Lederhosen costumes at an Oktoberfest employee picnic that took place on October 21. More than $1,000 was raised for each cause. For more information, call 989- 635-4000, or visit www.marletteregionalhospital.org.
